About Us

Welcome to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.

Actively sharing Christ’s Love in Community.

Luther Memorial is currently led by Lead Pastor Sara Funkhouser. Click here to learn more about our staff!

Luther Memorial is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a member of the Northwest Washington Synod.
More than that, we are a varied and diverse community of servants in the world.  As a Reconciling in Christ Congregation, we are committed to including and celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. There is a place for you here.
We celebrate the varied ways God has created us and strive to include and welcome people of every race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, physical condition, and gender identity.
We hope you’ll join us, wherever you are along life’s journey, to explore and celebrate the gift of life we are given.

Luther Memorial has been a part of the Broadview neighborhood since the late 1940s and has occupied our current space at the corner of Greenwood Ave. N and 132nd since 1957. Originally, we started as a Sunday School for the Broadview neighborhood which led to forming a congregation.
In 2017, we sold part of our parking lot & property (below market rate) to Compass Housing Alliance in order to create space for 59 units of affordable housing. This beautiful building opened in 2019 and we are grateful to be in relationship with our new neighbors.
